Icarus's Decent Picture

The tale of Icarus and Daedalus is my favorite in all of Greek mythology. A boy and his father escape an evil king's labyrinth using wings that they made of bird feathers. The father warns his son not to fly too close to the water because the wings will dampen and become heavy and not to fly too close to the sun because the wax holding the wings together will melt. Overcome by a state of euphoria created by the joy of flight, Icarus (the son) forgot his father's warning and flew too close to the sun which led to his demise.
