Opposizione Picture

Sometimes the moon and the sun were considered lovers, others brother and sister or even enemies...
In greek mythology, they were brothers, sons of the titans Theia and Iperione: Elios, running with is charriot, was the one to illuminate the earth during the day; Selene was the one to do it during the night.
Althought, the moon was also represented by two other gooddesses: Artemis (Apollo's twin sister), the crescent moon and Ecate, goddess of the crossroads, of "black" magic and of the waning moon.
