In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.

---Cthulhu, The Sleeper of R'lyeh---------------------------------------------------------------------
A cosmic evil entity created by the writer H. P. Lovecraft and first introduced in the short story "The Call
of Cthulhu". It later becomes such an iconic creature from Lovecraft's work that it came to name the
entire universe of his stories, "The Cthulhu Mythos", and nowadays the name is used as a tongue-in-cheek
shorthand for extreme horror or evil. In-universe, Cthulhu is a "Great Old One", a race of cosmic entities
who came to our planet when it was still young, taking residence on it, but eventually becoming dormant
or inactive with the passing of time, while still exerting influence from the shadows over the Earth and its
living beings. In "The Call of Cthulhu", the eponymous creature is revealed to be sleeping in a state of
undeath in the sunken alien city of R'lyeh, at the bottom of the pacific ocean. He's worshipped by
thousands of loyal cultists across the world, humans or otherwise, and speaks to them in their dreams,
plotting for his eventual return to the surface when "The stars are right". Cthulhu is described having an
enormous size, a human-like body, an octopus head, and draconic features such as scales and wings, and
it is said that merely looking at it is enough to drive anyone insane.
Before anything else, sorry for the utter lack of posts, specially mythology-wise. Life decided to throw a
bunch of stuff at me at once and I lacked the time to do much drawing. I had a lot of stuff planned for the
month of Halloween, but... Oh well.
