east west dragons Picture

One of my last projects in ceramics class. Unfortunately, once bisqued, the Western dragon's wings could not fit into the glaze vats, to be completely dipped. I think I may have had to paint, sponge, or drip the secondary glaze onto the wings. The Western dragon also has a tail, which is obscured by its wings, at this photo's angle. I don't think I originally wanted the dragons to be "facing off" against each other. (I wanted them to be friends.) But their glazings set them into their firing places, and I don't want to risk chipping them out.

I love dragons. But I also love comparative mythology. So I try to have Western and Eastern dragons juxtaposed together, whenever I can.
