Anubis Weighs Your Soul Picture

In this one, I wanted to paint Anubis in the foreground holding Maat- the Feather, which in Egyptian society stood for "truth" and in the background is the almighty scale that he used after you died. He'd place Maat in one of the baskets and your heart in the other; if your heart weighed more than the feather, your soul was devoured by Ammut- a creature that was part crocodile and part hippopotamus but if your heart weighed less than Maat, you were allowed to join the afterlife.
