Chimera Picture

According to Greek mythology, a Chimera is a monstrous fire-breathing female and male creature composed of the parts of three animals: a lion, a snake and a goat. The term, and often the general concept, has since been adopted by various works of popular culture and is used to describe anything perceived as wildly imaginative or implausible.

Many small individually crafted statues were placed around the outside of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, to serve as column supports and water spouts. Among these are the famous gargoyles, designed for water run-off, and chimeras.

This is one of the beautiful chimeras you can find over there. I really loved this one, at times it seems like they look over the city and long to be part of the crazy activities of humans. Maybe that's what they're dreaming of..
