Drew this in paint chat for my good friend ~Greenphoenixking, because he's obviously a fan of phoenixes!

I had fun drawing this. I think I went a little overboard on coloring and should have kept it simpler, but oh well. I kind of got frustrated with the coloring and just left it as is. I like his wings. His feet are awkwardly placed... and his body a bit too small.... WHATEVER.

I don't draw birds. Ever. So this was a nice change of pace from humans or wolves/canines. Let's me know I haven't numbed my artistic abilities to only being able to draw the two aforementioned things. Hahaha

A phoenix is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.
