Thief of Always Picture

If any book has ever influenced me in my life, it would be Clive Barker's Thief of Always. My dad would read it to me when I was little, and then eventually gave it to me when we moved here. It might be a children's book, but I just want to read it over and over again. It's also what got me into Barker in the first place.

I'm always disapointed that I never see any good fan art for his books. Most of it is Hellraiser, which pisses me off because that is the tip of the iceberg of what he has done. Not that The Hellbound Heart wasn't good, it's just... oh fuck, I'm ranting.

Anyway, I wanted to do like a summary kind of work for ToA. I had Harvey sitting with the little ark and then the panels for the four seasons with Rictus, Jive, Marr, and Carna. I used some of Barker's original illustrations, such as the spring flowers blowing, the hangman, and the christmas tree face. I also used them for reference for the characters.

There really isn't any good pic of Marr, and I don't like so how she looked on the cover because it didn't match the image I had in my head when I read the book. So I made her up mostly...I thought of my mythology teacher Miss Horton when I was drawing that LOL *ahem*.... seriously, the resemblance in uncanny.
