Latius - The Forgotten Eon Picture

Well, I haven't really submitted anything in quite a while so I thought I might as well try and get started again.

This is Latius, a legendary Fakemon that was thought to be the forgotten counterpart of Latias and Latios, not very much unlike how Giratina is related to Dialga and Palkia. Also, while Latias is a female-only species and that Latios is always male, Latius is a genderless Pokémon. Here is a sort of lengthy backstory about the accidental discovery of this guy:

"The twin Eon Pokémon. It is known that there are many myths and legends centered around these two creatures, most of which being native to the Hoenn region. However, while our research team were searching for possible clues to the actual truth of these stories, a sinister yet very baffling discovery was recently found at the Southern Island, a site that is near the aforementioned region which was believed to be some sort of resting area for the Eon Pokémon.

Using a modified Dowsing Machine, our research team found some kind of hidden switch that was otherwise perfectly obscured from view. In turn, a hidden entrance opened. Unsure on what to do next, we passed through this mysterious entryway with no second thoughts.

We eventually came to a dark and ominous hallway. It was pretty much empty, save for a pedastal located at the very centre of the hall. On top of this pedastal was a strange crystal. It was covered in some form of purple dirt for the most part, with the uncovered areas of the crystal glowing in a sickly green aura. We decided to take this eerie crystal back to the Shinju region for further analysis in order to find out how and why such a strange object would end up beneath the Southern Island and also to find out that if it had any connection with the Eon Pokémon at all.

A while after we returned to the Shinju Research Institute at Technovale City, I had remembered something. When I was slightly younger, about two years ago, the research team have discovered an ancient temple found at a small island near Mythologis City. The exterior of the temple had very similar architecture to the interior of the underground hallway found beneath the Southern Island near the Hoenn Region. The entrance to the temple, however, cannot be opened in any known way, preventing our team to unlock the mysteries surrounding the temple. Could there be a connection between these two places? Might this crystal be a key to unlock the temple doors?

We then decided to restart our expedition to the temple, bringing the crystal that we found beneath the Southern Island with us. Once we were there, I came up to the unopened temple doors. I felt excited about making a whole new discovery, but at the same time I was starting to feel nervous. Even then, I knew I had to press on. I slowly revealed the crystal and raised it up in the air. Me and the rest of the team watched as the temple doors began to open before us. Once it had fully opened, we went inside.

As the team went into the temple, I felt there is some strange presence nearby. As we went deeper into the temple, this feeling gradually intensified. We eventually stopped to find a special wall evgraved with with some form of writing, similar in appearance to the Pokémon Unown. Apparently, this writing was translated to be some form of myth.

The writing stated that there were not actually two Eon Pokémon, known to us as Latias and Latios, but there were three. According to the text, the third Eon Pokémon was called Latius. The writing stated that Latius was once very much like the other two Eon Pokémon, but it eventually became very envious of their abilities. This has given Latius an intense hunger for power, resulting in its growing psychotic behaviour. It attempted to destroy humanity as it had found them to be a weak and inferior race and, unlike Latias and Latios, it saw no reason as to why it should protect them, pushing Latius further into the brink of insanity. The corrupt Pokémon killed hundreds and thousands, but in the end the other Eon Pokémon fought it in a climatic battle and won. Afterwards, the wounded Latius was imprisoned whilst its soul was seperated from it and was taken to a faraway land to ensure that the existance of Latius was never heard from again.

Whilst I was reading and translating this text, a horrifying voice of ungodly proportions was ringing inside my head.

'My soul... you have it... give... it... to me...'

It spoke again.

'Give... it... to me...'

'GIVE... IT... TO ME!!!'

The rest of the team heard that voice as well. The voice seem to have came from behind, so we turned around. A sinister sarcophagus was right before us. The voice spoke again.

'Release me... from my prison... and give me... my soul! Give me back... my soul... and I... shall return... the favour!'

I then realised that whatever was trapped inside this sarcophagus was in fact the Pokémon mentioned in the ancient writing... Latius, the forgotten Eon Pokémon! I have also realised that this place wasn't a temple at all, but a prison built for this Pokémon!

All of the team, including myself, were now terrified by the fact that we have found an imprisoned monster that is bent on destruction. We fled from the sarcophagus containing Latius and ran out of the ancient prison in fear. We immediately returned to the Shinju Research Institute back at Technovale City, with the mysterious crystal still in our posession.

We vow to not go anywhere near the island that Latius' prison was built upon ever again. However, I still have the urge to learn more about Latius and its relation towards Latias and Latios, yet one question currently remains...

Does the seemingly tainted crystal found at the Southern Island near Hoenn contain the soul of Latius?"

-- Journal of Gym Leader Cyanide of Technovale City, Executive Researcher of the Shinju Research Institute

Unlike the other Eon Pokémon, Latius can change form in a similar way to Giratina and Shaymin. The first form shown in the image is the Soulless Forme. The Soulless Forme is the form that appears when you first encounter Latius in the wild and also while it is currently not holding the Tainted Dew, a trigger item that I will explain more about later. The second form is the Perfect Forme which has a more typical Eon Pokémon look to it. This form appears when Latius is holding the Tainted Dew. The Perfect Forme is Latius' true form, similar to how the Origin Forme of Giratina was. Apparently, Latius was always in that form before it was imprisoned by Latias and Latios. The differences between the two forms are their types (GHOST/DRAGON in Soulless Forme and DARK/DRAGON in Perfect Forme) and their movesets. However, Latius' base stats should always remain the same in each form.

To obtain this legendary Pokémon, you must first defeat the Shinju Pokémon Leauge and obtain the National Pokédex beforehand. You must then go to the Shinju Research Institute at Technovale City where you would meet up with Cyanide, the city's Gym Leader who also happened to be the Executive Researcher there. If you have both (yes, BOTH) Latias and Latios in your party, Cyanide will give you the Sinister Crystal (which is the item seen at the top of the image) and asks you to go to the island east of Mythologis City (known as Eon Island) to help him complete his research due to the fact that he did not want to go back there himself. Go to Eon Island and once you get there you should then go through the entrance of the ancient building known as the Eon Prison, an area only accessible if you have the Sinister Crystal in your bag.

Once you got deep enough inside the Prison there should be a sarcophagus right in front of you. Open this sarcophagus and Latius would immediately burst out of it and attack you. It will be at Level 50 and in its Soulless Forme. If you have defeated it in battle, you can battle it again after one week, much like Post-Elite Four Giratina and Heatran in Platinum Version. If you have managed to capture Latius, return to the Shinju Research Institute at Technovale City with it in your party and speak to Cyanide. He would tell you that the Sinister Crystal was in fact the Tainted Dew (The item seen at the bottom of the image), an object that apparently was created to seperate Latius' soul from the Pokémon itself while it was being imprisoned. He would then take the Sinister Crystal from you and after a while he would then give it back to you in the form of the Tainted Dew.

The Tainted Dew, when held by Latius, raises its Special Attack and Special Defense by 50%, much like what the Soul Dew does while it is held by either Latias or Latios. However, the Tainted Dew also allows Latius to change into its true form.

Here's the Pokédex entry for Latius:

Latius - The Eon Pokémon
(GHOST/DRAGON Type or DARK/DRAGON Type depending on its current form)

Marble Entry:
"In the past, it became envious of Latias and Latios' abilities. It went psychotic and was impisoned as a result."

Obsidian Entry:
"It was punished for killing many innocent people. Its corrupt soul was taken away from it to a faraway land."

Granite Entry:
"Of itself, Latias and Latios, it was considered to be the forgotten one out of the three Eon Pokémon."

Latius' signature move is Chaos Burst, a damaging move that is either a GHOST Type or a DARK Type move when Latius is either in its Soulless or Perfect Forme, respectively. Chaos Burst also lowers the foe's Special Defense.

This is probably the most creepy and evil Fakemon I've ever done. As for what this guy would sound like, some really crazy laughter such as any of these ([link]) would be a start.

Latias, Latios and Pokémon in general belongs to Game Freak and Nintendo.
Latius done by myself.

You may freely use this Pokémon as long as you give credit and that you don't modify it in any way without permission and claim it as your own. Why? Because if you steal this Pokémon I'll send the Mafia after you. Seriously.
