Renaissance Picture

Personal piece, this time. This is my artwork for an exhibit in my school. The theme was Rebirth, and the first thing that popped out of my mind was the Phoenix.

In Greek mythology, a phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.

I personified the Phoenix, since I'm not very good at drawing birds, and also to add some kick to the artwork. Phoenixes are known to engulf itself in flames when it is time for it to die, and in the artwork, she just resurrected from the ashes of her predecessor.

This has got to be the most demanding piece I ever did. I am somehow sleep-deprived at the moment, but I guess it's worth it. XD I learned a lot of things making this artwork, and I'm more than thankful for my new acquired knowledge.
