Andromeda - Perseus' story Picture

This is the last piece in my Perseus series. I made 5 (only 4 in my gallery).

With this one I'm quite satisfied. I was of course inspired by 'The Great Wave' by Hokusai (around 1800). That's not the real name of the piece, but it's what most people call it.

The woman hanging on the rock is Andromeda. Het mother was Kasaiopeia, who had said her daughter was more beautiful than the seagod's nimphs. Neptune was offended and demanded that Andromeda was sacrificed to a terrible sea-creature. Of course Perseus managed to save her just in time.
