Of Paradise Picture

Arcadia can be directly translated into "paradise" -- according to Greek mythology. It is not the supernatural heavenly paradise that comes to mind in thinking the word, however. Instead it was a very superficial name because the city of Arcadia was actually a very primitive cult-filled land. Then there's a whole thing about sheperds and werewolves; this myth takes place before Mount Olympus and its gods, though Zeus does play a part in the story of Arcadia. But anyway, peacocks were a big thing then and even now in the city of Arcadia, California -- home of the LA County Arboretum and Lucky Baldwin's estates. I sound like a brochure. So sue me.
