Hati and skoll : wolf brothers Picture

The next legend picture after fenrir
We are still in Viking mythology this time with Sköll and Hati
They are giant wolves that chase the sun and moon through the skies. Their father is Fenrir who is imprisoned on a island, Loki is their grandfather, mother unknown
Sköll means "he who mocks". He wants to eat the sun. He is described as faster and more agile then his brother. He grows tired and slows down once a year. Then the sun can stay for longer, causing summer.
Hati means "he who hates". He wants to catch the moon. He appears to never get tired......
When the wolves manage to eat the moon and sun, apparently the end of the world will come.
