Elune Picture

I always wanted to make my own picture of how I see Elune, the Goddess of the Night Elves in the Warcraft universe.

Elune is the major deity worshipped by the night elves. She is associated with the larger of Azeroth's two moons, the White Lady, and is the mother of Cenarius. In tauren mythology, she is known as Mu'sha, and is the left eye of the Earthmother.

It's difficult to make the goddess out through the luminescence that surrounds her, only catching glimpses of alabaster skin and long, pale hair, graceful gossamer robes and a platinum circlet upon her brow. Her eyes are brilliant orbs of pure moonlight, and she smiles peacefully upon her worshippers.

I also wanted to work the Naaru into the picture, taking approach to the questions given to "Ask Creative Development II", someone asked if Elune was a naaru. The response was delightfully unclear, yet wholly appropriate:

Q: Is Elune a Naaru?

A: During a recent visit to Darnassus by Velen, he explained that the kaldorei's description of Elune, as well as the demonstrated powers of the goddess, matched his experiences with powerful naaru. He began to offer advice regarding how to commune with powerful naaru, but Tyrande thanked him for his opinion, then cordially requested that he refrain from making such outlandish claims when in Darnassus or in the presence of Elune's priesthood.

My take on the Elune looks therefor different then most naaru, as I wanted it to look more like a part of the Goddess, as well as a Naaru of strong power not only in the light, but also in nature.
