Mythology: Khonshu Picture

The Egyptian god of the moon, time and youth. While he puts on an air of civility, Khonshu is actually a rogue and an unrepentant gambler. His love of games of chance have been both a service and a hinderence to him. When Ra forbit Geb and Nut to have children during the 360 days of the year, Nut challenged Khonshu to a game of Senet. Eventually, she won enough time from him to create five extra days. Another time, he bested the god Bes and took several feet of his once imposing height as a prize.
