Long Horn 01 Picture

Anybody remember this guy? If not, allow me to refresh your memory. Back in 1995, before the release of Road Rovers, there was another Warner Bros. TV show called Freakazoid, which was about a wacky superhero who wore a red spandex jumpsuit, had blue skin, and had a pretty crazy hair-style with a streak of white that looks like a lightning bolt. Similar to Lupe from Sonic Satam. Anyway, the character in the illustration is Longhorn. As far back as I can remember, he was one of the bad guys in the show, and was one of Freakazoid's enemies along with the Lobe, Cave Guy, Cobra Queen, Armando Guitierrez, and several other villains I remember from the show. He was voiced by Maurice LaMarche.

His real name is Jubal "Bull" Nixon, and he was once an employee of the "Johnny Cat" cat litter company, until he turned to a life of crime. Because he was searched for by law enforcement so frequently, he had plastic surgery to turn himself into a humanoid Texas Longhorn Steer. His appearance closely resembles that of a minotaur, which in Greek mythology essentially half man, half bull. He loves country music and, despite being a lousy songwriter, is determined to get a recording contract at Nashville. He also owns a massive truck, nicknamed "Bessie Mae", which is outfitted with all kinds of devices.

I don't know how much fanart there is of him on the internet. But I figured not a whole lot. So I decided to search through my drawers and my folders for sketches that I've been saving for the last few years. And so I came across this sketch I made of Longhorn which I had almost completely forgotten about. So here it is. Enjoy.

Freakazoid, Long Horn, belongs to Warner Bros.
