Animation Backgrounds and Stuff Picture

Hey there lovely people inexplicably still here!

So it's been a while since I've posted anything here. Main reason is procrastination and my grad proj which is taking up most of my creative time right now.

Anyways, I've had to scrap two fleshed-out animation concepts, the first one (the one with the vampires and crap) because I couldn't get it to clock under at least 7 minutes, which would be a right bitch to animate, and is officially too long for my project. The second one was kinda politicized, so my mentor advised against it. The third one, based on Macedonian folklore and Slavic mythology is a go, though, and I've been working on it on-and-off for the past few months. Pretty much I've been stuck in pre-production, storyboarding, moodboarding, defining all the characters, objects, movement keyframes and facial expressions. This has always been the part that's taken the longest for me, but everything's in place now, and I've begun work on the backgrounds.

This is the first one, officially marking this as past the planning stage. It's inspired by Vasnetsov's Bogatyrs, which will be more evident to those knowledgeable in Russian Symbolism once the scene is complete. After the backgrounds are done, putting all the stuff together is relatively simple.

So, I hope I'll have more to show very soon.
