The Losers Picture

Here is a project for my 2-D design class in which we were supposed to pick a random phrase or word from a list and invent an imaginary band. Then we were to write a brief biography of this band and design a promotional poster. I chose "The Losers" and wrote a story about five misunderstood bad guys in fairy tales and legends who were sick of being snubbed by the heros so quit their jobs to start a band. This is the poster for their debut album "Ever After Overrated". It is drawn with prismacolor pencils and micron pens with the aim of making it look like an old Disney cartoon. The image is of Cinderella and Prince Charming after they have been married for a while. The bluebirds at the top of the poster have the band members' heads--from left to right: Grendel Cain (the monster from Beowulf), Medusa Gorgon (from Greek Mythology), Helga Hexe (the witch from Hansel & Gretel), Russell "Big Bad" Wolf (the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little this case, I made him a werewolf since wolves don't have opposable thumbs and might have difficulty playing guitar), and Fifi Fofum (the giant from Jack and the Beanstock). Although it's hard to make out, the name of their album is in the water on the floor.
