Did you know that there are 3+ myths about daffodils in Greek/Roman mythology?
1) Narcissus (the Latin name for daffodil) was this really vain bastard who ignored a nymph who fell in love with him because he's too in love with himself. The Gods got angry and turned him into a flower (a daffodil), so now he'll spend eternity sitting by water, nodding at his own reflection.
2) Pluto took this one Goddess (name escapes me) who was picking lilies and she dropped them, and they turned into daffodils, hanging their heads in sorrow.
3) The Goddess Venus is the ruler of daffodils (or something), except yellow ones, which belong to the God Mars.
