Monsters of Myth and Legend - Chimera Picture

Here it is, the hybrid monster of Greek Mythology and from Homer's "Iliad", CHIMERA! This monster, that was one of Typhon and Echidna's offspring, was part lion, part goat, part dragon, and part serpent. Sometimes, people say that Chimera had a middle head, body, and hind legs of a lion, a left head and hoof of a goat, a right head, hand, and wings of a dragon, and a snake's head for a tail. Each head breathed fire and it terrorized the citizens of the Greek city of Lycia. Apparently Greek hero Bellerophon came riding on a winged horse and killed the beast.
