Birth of Athena Picture

My long awaited entry into Baroque painting and my first painting done on canvas that I stretched and primed by myself. In Greek mythology, Athena sprang from Zeus' head and became the goddess of wisdom and divine love. This took well over a month to paint and no models or references were used in making it. Next time I paint this, though, I think I shall use a model... It's much easier.

*The original painting was stretched to 24" x 30" but 3 inches were folded over when it was framed for the BFA 1 Exhibition at UCF. Check out the picture of it framed in my scraps section.
