The Devil Picture

The Devil, a preliminary drawing of a tarot-inspired series I have been working on for years. Here, the Devil comes in the form of a Ursalean mythological creature made flesh: Schezezerazadhe. She has bound legendary heroes Russell and Justin Janxix to a stone. In her breastplate is reflected the cosmology of the Ursalean religious philosophy, Solhism. In it, the planets of the solar system are affixed, which are also the symbols of the chief deities in the Solhist belief. The bound twin brothers know they are powerful enough to break the flimsy chains that bind them, yet they do nothing to escape their captivity.
