Apsara, Angkor Wat Picture

A photo of an apsara at Angkor Wat, taken from the middle tower with my digital camera during my trip to Angkor Wat.

Apsara's are celestial dancers in Hindu mythology who were created during the churning of the ocean of milk. They dance in heaven for the gods and fallen heroes. Most Khmer temples and especially Angkor Wat are full of them, as they were believed to protect the temple against evil spirits.
