Arash Kamangeer (the archer), a hero in Shahnameh mythology.

When Persia's territorial integrity was threatened, in the face of the invading Turan, it was decided to have a Persian archer's arrow from the mountain peak, to decide the border between the two warring nations.

Arash, the archer, gave his life by spending his life-force in shooting a single arrow that traveled from dawn to sunset to demarcate this border.

Once the deed was done, there remained nothing of Arash's physical self but his bow.
