The Morrighan Picture

The Morrighan, Celtic goddess of Death, Reincarnation, souls, fate, battle, and violence. Also know as "The Great Queen", "The Phantom Queen", or "Supreme War Goddess".

She takes the form of a raven, or a woman in a cloke of black raven feathers. She made a triad of war goddesses in Ireland along with Badb and Macha. It is said that the hero Cu Chhlainn rejected her because he failed to recognize her and when he died, The Morrighan rested at his shoulder in the form of a raven.
