The Euryale Picture

" Euryale "

Gorgon In Greek mythology is a female creature. The name derives from the ancient Greek word gorgós, which means "dreadful", and appears to come from the same root as the Sanskrit word "garğ" which is defined as a guttural sound, similar to the growling of a beast, thus possibly originating as an onomatopoeia. While descriptions of Gorgons vary across Greek literature and occur in the earliest examples of Greek literature, the term commonly refers to any of three sisters who had hair made of living, venomous snakes, as well as a horrifying visage that turned those who beheld her to stone. Traditionally, while two of the Gorgons were immortal, Stheno and Euryale, their sister Medusa was not, and she was slain by the demigod and hero Perseus.

Euryale was the second eldest one of the Gorgons, Euryale also had the ability to turn anyone to stone with her gaze.
They were daughters of primordial sea god and goddess Phorcys and Ceto, who personified the dangers of the sea. In many stories, Euryale is noted for her bellowing cries, particularly in the tale of Medusa's death at Perseus' hands.
Euryale’s deep, violet eyes swirled like two universes flowing with stars that sparkled and shone so captivatingly that surely once a mortal man caught their beauty, he would forever be trapped in fascination.
Euryale was the calm before the storm. Giving no warning for the immediate havoc that was about to be released - her victims were curled into her coils like a babe in its mothers arms. Euryale's stillness was unmatched - as her deep violet eyes gazed upon you; all of the universe would stand still. You would lose all will to retaliate - quite contrary - you would willfully fall into her arms. Mesmerised, hypnotised, tranquilized - from the moment you felt her presence, nothing in the world mattered. She would hold you close to her bosom and you, the victim, would be lost in the universe of her eyes eternal glow. You would remain still as she sank her fangs into you and tore you apart with her cold brass claws. Silent and still forever.... However, dare to escape her presence and she will hunt you down bellowing the most frightfully chilling cries - soul shaking and terrifying her calls could be heard shrieking throughout the lands and seas. Whomever was unfortunate enough to escape, would be left traumatised forever - the shrieking calls of death gripped tightly around their necks like a noose. Their souls petrified by the stillness - they would forever be trapped in her brass clutches.
