PERSEUS - 9. Pegasus, the Winged Horse Picture

The Death of Medusa

Medusa’s headless body fell to the ground, desperately clinging to its last moments until it was finally no more. Through her blood, the fabled horse, Pegasus was born.

In the meantime, the other two gorgons were waking up. Their shrieks at the sight of their sister’s void body were terrifying. Perseus then swiftly rode the winged horse while putting the head in the special sack, and with Athena’s blessings he escaped the lair. His victory was tremendous. Nothing could stop the courageous hero now, not even the Gorgons. A few strong beats of Pegasus’s wings were enough; they quickly flew far from the lair.
