The Second Threshold Picture

How are we possibly able to go back to the lives we lived before like it was nothing when we've become gods here?

Over the last few months, I've been in a rather rigorous Classical Mythology course. Our last assigned read for the class was Joseph Campbell's 'The Hero with a Thousand Faces'.
The book talks about the idea of the Monomyth, and how all mythologies have this central story of the Hero's Quest which contains in it inherent truths on how life works.

I was literally so distracted from reading it because every now and then I'd see something and think '...that happened in Homestuck!!!' And then I'd waste a half hour contemplating Homestuck instead of my assigned reading.

This was born out of a doodle during a class discussion; I was kind of wondering about what it would be like for them to have to cross the second threshold back into the mundane world from which they came, and this metaphorical hooey came out!
