Staring Insanity in the Face Picture

"...The Furies of the Underworld, with blue-green snakes entwined in their hair..."

A quote from Virgil's Orpheus and Eurydice. They also turn up in the Underworld in Book 6 of the Aeneid, along with a load of other amazing descriptive imagery. I will draw it all one day.

The Furies (or Erinyes, in the Greek) are harpy-ish female creatures with live snakes in their hair who punish people for committing terrible murders and other crimes by driving them insane.

This was done, like most of mine, in coloured pencils. The scan isn't very good because the sketchbook was cheap and the paper goes bumpy, the same goes for most of my other stuff.
