Portrait of a Gorgon Picture

Digital, 2012

I started this back in February with all intentions of finishing it fairly quickly and keeping the art ball rolling; I couldn't quite figure out how to handle the tentacley cybernetics, however, and I still think they aren't really right, but I'm at the point now where I am tired of messing with it. I played with a different technique again for this one, and I'm fairly pleased with how it worked (lots of colorpicking off the canvas to blend and spread colors around).

So anyway, another Gorgon, and this time you can see (sorta) why they got that name -- Humans had descriptions of them far before they ever saw one, and the descriptions of the cybernetic interfaces reminded someone of their Greek mythology. I imagine this guy is an ambassador, which is why he is at least trying to look pleasant.

Original character.
