Sodom Design Concept Picture

Jon hates me now.

But that's okay. I'm used to my characters hating me. I think it's all part of being a creator. We torture our characters, and in turn they hate us.

Anyway, as some of you may know, I've been working on a concept design of Jon's Sodom, part of that story I've been writing but don't have a name for yet. I've been struggling with an idea, since I really have know idea what exactly I wanted to do - I wanted to give him a really really...neat design, and also something inspired by ancient times. I've been working with a few designs but nothing was really coming up right. Nothing that I would think in my head came down on paper right at all.

One day, I was flipping through a book that I have, one of many, on mythology, when I came across the Goddess Ishtar, an Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of love, war, and fertility. She had wings. She was cool. And then my creative juices started pumping.

So once I got the first initial idea down of Sodom that I liked, which can be found here [link] , I decided to work on that. I also decided to do a little more research on Ishtar which would help me come up with a little bit more of an idea of what, mythologically, she looked like. In most researches, I found two things in common - usually she was depicted with some sort of horns protruding out of her head, and then wings. Because of love wings, I thought this would give Sodom a very unique look compared to some of the other characters.

Initially, my main idea for Sodom, and his partner Gommorrah, were... well kinda fruity like with makeup and lots of bling.

So.. well... heres a possible idea, one that I came up with that I liked, that I thought I'd finish. Nothing set in stone yet, but this is definately something that I want to work with. Poor Jon. XD So, basically, I shoved three sets of horns on his head, which are supposed to resemble bull horns (or some other animal with horns of such nature), and shoved giant wings on his back, gave him big Diva hoop earrings, a set of necklaces that you see on some tribes people, a belly ring, some claw rings for more bling fun, and of course, metal underwear. XD And, of course, eyeliner and gold eyeshadow top off his outfit!

I didn't want to go too crazy with the colours or anything, like most agents, but I just loved the idea of mostly gold, especially on the wings. I also wanted to make it look like his wings were attached to his body, so hence the like...fuzzy stuff around his upper back area. I'm not sure if the blue robe coming down is going to be attached to his legs somehow, or if it's just going to flail aimlessly, but I do like this design, I'm not too sure. I'm still working with his design, but I think I'm going to work on this one more, hence why I decided to colour this one
