Fenrir and Loki Picture

I really like Norse mythology. I set out to paint the moment in time between the earth shaking itself apart and all the giants and all the enemies of the gods launching themselves into Asgard, the home of the gods. Specifically, this is Loki the tricky little shapeshifter god turning around and taunting his son, the wolf Fenrir, one last time before the fall of the gods. And the backstory to this exchange is really long so I suggest going to wikipedia and typing in "ragnarok."

On one hand I have my graphic design teacher urging me to pattern stuff based on pre-existing cultures and timesets, and then on the other my watercolor II keeps telling me to make up my own mythology and statements. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

I just really like Norse mythology and want to paint more scenes like this.
