The Nymph Picture

A self-potrait bust, in a surreal manner. I'm not really a nymph... Lol.
My hair has become vines: My skin has become the bark of a tree, all except the small patch on my face.
Because I'm Muslim and wear the traditional scarf, people thought I was making a statement against being a muslim, or wearing the scarf. This is not so. Others thought the figure was Christ-like, due to the thorns. I suppose I can see where they get this from, but alas, tis not the figure of Christ.
I love mythology--especially that of Greek/Roman. Therefore, I am a nymph. End of story.

Clay and under-glaze were the two mediums used to create this piece.
