Young Love Picture

Taking a break from studying for finals.

Here is Amor, aka Cupid (Roman) or Eros (Greek), as a baby, before his Shakespeare comedy-worthy love dealings. The butterfly is the symbol for the soul, or psyche, the name of his future wife (ergo, the title is a pun). Or it can just be there for the cuteness factor.

This is my first real try at drawing a babyish figure. It kinda makes me sad that this is the archetype image of Cupid. I prefer him as a young man.
But if you think about it, the baby version can be scary. Just imagine getting sniped by an invisible fat baby hell-bent on screwing over your life by making you love/hate someone against your better judgment. I might start a tradition of wearing Kevlar on Valentine's Day.
