Yggdrasill Picture

From a long while ago. This was my take on the idea of Yggdrasil, the tree of life, from Norse mythology. The white figure in the middle of the page represents Yggdrasil, vulnerable as it is being devoured (or, rather, its roots are being devoured) by the great serpent Nidhogg, which is represented by the black encompassing figure that is curling around the perimeter of the picture.

Materials used were terra cotta clay, green spray paint, charcoal, and gesso.

White lines near the top right corner were made with masking tape and I still need to do something with them. Something cool.
