Journey's End Picture

Another painting done with a “blue sky” approach (just start painting and see where your mind takes you).

When detailing the mountains I somewhat referenced the Huangshan range in China. When a dragon came into the picture I just thought about it having colorful feathers and a flat, ribbon-like body. You can’t really see it online but a figure is riding on the dragon’s head.

It’s not particularly original but was fun nonetheless. Subconscious influences can probably be attributed to the art from Kung Fu Panda (color choices) and/or the Flight anthology covers, among various depictions of Chinese mythological iconography.
