The Wages of Sin Picture

Ok, this was a History/English project. We had to do a scene from any of the books we had read this year. I chose Paradise Lost and the scene with Sin and Death by the gates of Hell. Sin is the daughter of Satan, and Death is her child by an incestuous relationship with her father. She was thrown down to Hell with the other fallen angels and turned into the hideous monster she is now. Much like the Greek mythology monster Scylla, she has dogs coming out of her. The shadow in the lower left hand corner is Satan, now a monster, coming to the gates. The figure in the upper left hand corner is Death. I showed Sin's face as one of absolute agony, for that is what sin brings...suffering and death.
