Drider Skeleton Picture

For Anatomy and Figure drawing we had to design an anatomically feasible mythological creature. I chose the Drider--a hideous mixing of the Drow dark elf and Spider.

I actually designed a spider endoskeleton rather than making a transition from the drow endoskeleton to an arachnid exoskeleton and there were a number of fascinating challenges.

The technique of this particular image was largely experimental. Crayon with ink wash on top, the figure is watered down ink in a dip pen with an overlay of watercolor. It sits to the left of the Fleshed Drider.

This assignment was not graded and very fun.
