Not a Naga Picture

It is strangly amusing to me to find out how many people know about the Naga, an eastern creature, and how few know about the Echidna, a Grecian monster, when they are ALMOST IDENTICAL. I mean it. So, I thought I'd post a little joke, and then I thought I'd go ahead and draw her home, and then I went ubercrazy on the detail...


For those not in the know, the Echidna is basically the mother of all monsters in mythology. Or most, anyway. Cerebus, Hydra, the sphinx... very big family. Of course, here I'm following the "gorgon" trend and making a formerly singular monster into an entire race.

Yes, i know the Echidna is also that Australian thing with spines and eggs. It was named after this chick.
