Echidna's Rompo Picture

Wikipedia describes the Rompo as: "a mythological beast with the head of a jack rabbit, human ears, a skeleton like body, the front arms of a badger, and the rear legs of a bear. It feeds only on human corpses and it is said to croon softly as it eats. Stories about the Rompo are found in India and Africa."

I've mentioned this in a story of mine, and though not seeing any pictures of said animal I thought I'd draw it. This is just a sketch of what I think it looks like.

Took me a while to get over the fact it has human ears, for me I think it looked better at first with rabbit ears - but as the description says they have human ears. So I put them in the same position as the rabbits.

It's arms are a bit weird atm, because I changed them last minute. I was taking the drawing of them from what I remember of Badgers, the European Badgers. But these mythical beasts are based in Africa and India where the Honey Badger lives - so I went and looked up a picture of one of them and found they had skinnier and longer arms that curved more. So that's why they're a bit scruffy.

In my personal opinion, though a tail was not mentioned, the Rompo should have a rabbit tail. I think it looks better than a longer tail since none of the other animals have long tails either.

I also chose to make the bottom jaw a skeleton. It looks too cute with a complete face. To add to it's skeleton body, I gave it a jaw of bone... and sharp fang-teeth, since rabbit teeth are not designed to go through flesh.
