For this part of the trip we traveled to Crete, the island of the legendary King Minos. This was his palace Knossos, this column is a concrete reconstruction by archaeologists but originally it was made of wood and painted.

Oh, just in case you're wondering where the mythological Labyrinth is. You're looking at it, the whole palace is the labyrinth, which by the way doesn't mean a maze. The word Labyrinth comes from the Labrys, a ceremonial double-bladed axe used in Minoan religious rituals.
