Gryphon of Nihon Picture

I almost forgot to upload this guy here. He was part of my "mythical beasts" series for my last drawing project.

Part of the project was using mythological creatures as subjects and varying artistic styles to portray them. This one mimics the style of the great Japanese ink painters such as Toriyama Sekien, Kawanabe Kyousai, and Katsushika Hokusai.

Please pardon the really shoddy excuse for kanji... It's not even logical - I just used the kanji for lion, eagle, and wings - and it's poorly written. T^T I was in a rush to get the last project done, so I didn't have time to make it look pretty.
