MECHAROK - Celestial Theocracy Picture

This is from MECHAROK, a thing I am working on, for more info go here:…

"The Shadow of the Skia cometh. All hope is for naught unless we embrace the translucent light of Olgonea. Those who join our cause shalt be sheltered by her Grace, those who oppose her shalt feel the bite of our swords. Sing praise to the Anavasi! May her light shine our way through the darkness!"
-Cardinal Vallis Besmoth, from the Church of Olgonea-

The Theocracy is a union of several alien races who have embraced a single religious cause which makes them thrive to further expand and seek out others to introduce to their blessed faith. They use their advanced technology and wisdom to lure a race, and then they open negotiations. At that point, the contacted race will either join their cause, or be destroyed. The ones who founded the Celestial Theocracy are known as the Aneli, and like the Avos who founded the Demiurge Alliance, the Agiata are psychic by nature, which made many wary of the Celestial Theocracy, and all those who join them.

Of all the races that joined the Celestial Theocracy, the Agiata are the most notable because they are the ones who founded it in the first place. They are mammals with lifespans of about 200 years, they have short but silky fur that covers most of their bodies. The fur can be grey, beige, yellow or purely white. Their home planet Katagogi is an arctic wasteland, where most life can only flourish on high mountains, due to the cold winds that whip the lands below. To this reason, the Agiata have evolved to a cold environment, hence the fur. They also have small wet noses which are oddly keen despite their size. They also have large ears which can pivot and adjust without the head or neck having to move, so their hearing is far superior to that of many races, especially Humans. Their eyes however are among the most notable of features, because they can be a variety of colors, including green, blue, yellow, orange, red, violet, silver and copper, and it is not rare for them to have odd-colored eyes (meaning two eyes are of different color). The odd thing about the Agiata is their male-female ratio, and it seems that females of their race outnumber the males by an estimation of 6-1. To Humans, this can be compared to how lion packs work, and it is hinted that the Agiata have feline-related evolutionary origins.

-around 1000BC: The Agiata started to evolve from their original hunter-gatherer tribes and formed feudal kingdoms across the single continent of the planet Katagogi. At times, these feudal states fought one another furiously, while at other times they formed peace and prosperity together. The erratic nature of their civilizations did not help the Agiata species to flourish culturally.
-629AD: A missionary named Iera Postolos began spreading the word of Anavasi, a new religion known as ''the Ascension''. The religion spread like wildfire among some Agiata estates, while others outright denied it. This resulted in the first holy wars of the Agiata, in an attempt to usher in the ''One True Faith''.
-1082: The Anavasi faith spread to all of Katagogi and all Agiata learned to embrace it. Once they were unified, they started to advance their technology in a hasty attempt to learn more about the world around them and the universe beyond. The teachings of their Goddess Olgonea were spread by the Church of Ascension, which gained complete control over all Agiata government.
-1247: The Agiata race had ventured into space and uncovered more about the cosmos than they could have ever dreamed of. They had also discovered several alien species, fledgling compared to them, and began ascending them to their level, asking them in turn to accept the blessed light of the Anavasi. This is how the Celestial Theocracy was formed, to preach about the Anavasi faith to all, and to envelop the Galaxy in holy light.
-1251-1265: The very first alien species that the Agiata met were the Fanorl. The Fanorl originated from the planet Hounel, which was ruled by a young Union of States which valued the sovereignty of each individual State. Their ways of life allowed them to unify all the vastly different States into a single nation and by cooperating they managed to create their very first space fleet. The Fanorl fleet encountered the Agiata who were similarly a race which began taking their first steps into interstellar travel. The Agiata tried to convert the Fanorl by sending Missionaries to each of their States, but most Fanorl refused, thinking that accepting a religion they didn't truly believe in would hinder their beliefs in individual liberty. Agiata preachers started giving public speeches, trying to convince the Fanorl that the only way for them to save their souls is by accepting the Anavasi. Local Fanorl State Police tried to convince the preachers that they should hold their sermons in "Religious Quarters" where the preachers of the Fanorl religions could speak the beliefs of their faith freely. Many Agiata perceived this decree as an act of aggression against the "true faith" and began openly attacking the Fanorl Police Officers, and when the Fanorl had to use lethal force to take down some of the more fanatical preachers, the Celestial Theocracy declared war. The Fanorl Union of States faced against a violent and bloody Crusade which they could not defeat. The surviving Fanorl were placed in "Evangelic Enclaves" where they were forced to go through re-education, tutoring the young in the ways of the Anavasi. From that point on, the Fanorl were a loyal and devout member of the Celestial Theocracy.
-1336-1348: While expanding its territories, the Celestial Theocracy encountered robust space ships crewed by an alien species which called itself the Nek-Ek. The Theocracy first made contact with a small contingent of Nek-Ek ships landed on a planet the Theocracy's pilgrims frequently visited. The Nek-Ek were interested in Agiata culture and after a few months of convincing, they accepted the Anavasi. Or so the Agiata thought, because in 1337 the Nek-Ek "converts" stole the planet's tithe and they escaped into cold space before the Celestial Barges could respond. To the Agiata, stealing a tithe is equivalent to stealing from the Goddess, and thus they swore to pursue the Nek-Ek until they retrieved what was rightfully theirs. In 1339 the Celestial Theocracy uncovered the Nek-Ek homeworld, Ga-Ek which was a habitable natural satellite which orbited a gas giant that was oddly close to the system's star. The Nek-Ek were raised on a world with scarce resources so they adopted the ways of thievery in order to survive. But the Theocracy was not so understanding, so they attacked Ga-Ek with a Crusade of retribution. The Nek-Ek had an impressive fleet, but it took the Theocracy only four years to conquer their homeworld. Upon occupying Ga-Ek, the Agiata sent missionaries who began converting Nek-Ek people, teaching them to forsake the path of theft and accept the Goddess' charitable spirit. With Ga-Ek under the Theocracy's reign, the surviving Nek-Ek raider ships fled, escaping from the Evangelizing of their people. For centuries, Nek-Ek ships hid in the darkest backwater corners of the Furor SIN, biding their time and accumulating power as they launched raids on the Celestial Theocracy's borders, preparing for the day they would set their people free.
-1421: The Celestial Theocracy stumbled upon a lush and lively planet inhabited by a primitive alien species, the Drut. The Drut were bog-dwelling aliens who had tendencies to fall into tribal conflicts, thus they developed a strong warrior culture. The Drut Highlanders were equipped with wooden shields and iron swords, but mostly fought naked, covered only by war-paint which they believed had mystic properties. When the Theocracy's ships landed on the planet, which the Drut called Frin, the missionaries presented themselves as messengers of the "only true Goddess". The Drut had pantheons of their own pagan gods, but their beliefs were shaken when they saw these almost angelic beings clad in shining suits of armor and armed with swords that glistened as if coated with lightning. It was not difficult for the Knights to put down any Drut who oppose them, and it took only a few months for the entirety of the planet's indigenous population to be converted to the Anavasi way. The Drut were later technologically ascended and their fierceness in battle proved instrumental in impeding unprovoked Pozh attacks on the Celestial Theocracy. But even with several victories against the enigmatic aliens, the Theocracy was never able to find out what are the true reasons behind the Pozh's aggression.
-1579-1582: The Agiata spread their influence far and wide, exploring many star systems and indoctrinating or destroying any sentient species they encountered. But while their ways might have been ruthless, they did create a level of stability within their territories, as every species that joined them prospered as they traded with one another. The Theocracy also established the Astral Path at that point, a set of "roads" which lead through the void of space that were used by the Celestial Theocracy for commerce. The Astral Path was noticed by a species which enjoyed free trade and cultural exchange, the Xei'Sar. Native to the tropical planet of Kee'Vosh, the Xei'Sar had many gifts to offer to the emissaries of the Celestial Theocracy. The Theocracy represented many races, each unique in its own way, so the Xei'Sar were eager to join them. The Xei'Sar believed in Jha'M, the Goddess of Gifts, so they were able to relate her to Olgonea, the Goddess of the Anavasi. Although they technically are a loyal part of the Theocracy, the Xei'Sar had a Cult of their own, where they gave Olgonea the characteristics of Jha'M. The Agiata permit this, for they are still devout to the Goddess, even if they gave her a different name, but they maintain a vigilant watch over the Xei'Sar, lest they stray from the Anavasi's guiding light.
-1723-1737: A single Celestial Barge reported seeing a planet which had its entire molten core extracted, a planet which the Theocracy confirmed to be habitable only a few years prior. Many priests within the Church of Olgonea spoke of bad omens coming their way and that they should prepare for another Crusade. Two years later, a planet belonging to the Celestial Theocracy called Nenin was attacked by alien invaders who came in massive and heavily armored ships. They were known as the Wafiux, a species who care for nothing other than their craft, which was mining entire worlds bare. Wafiux Dozer Ships had gigantic drill-heads at their stems which burrowed into the planet's surface and headed straight for its molten core. This sudden attack was enough for the Celestial Theocracy to declare a holy war upon the Wafiux, who so boldly desecrated their domains. Although the Theocracy had more ships, the Wafiux ships were better armored, which made the stellar battles drawn out. The Agiata learned more about the Wafiux by reading the minds of Wafiuxen prisoners (the process usually resulting in the death of said prisoner). It seemed that long ago the Wafiux race dug too greedily into their own homeplanet's core, which made it virtually uninhabitable. The Wafiux made all of their technology from a very dense type of metal which can only be made from some materials that can only be found in the deepest parts of a planet, which is why they built an entire fleet from those materials and began scouring space around them in search of more of this core-material. This proved that the Dozer Fleet was all that remained of the Wafiuxen species, and that their greed for ore is an evil that the Crusaders could not allow to prosper. After a decade of grinding conflict the Celestial Theocracy exterminated the Wafiux, destroying their heinous technology so its malicious ways would never return.
-1870: This is the year the Celestial Theocracy encountered the Yohm, a peaceful species which originate from a large planet which they called Ranaika. The climate was usually warm, but not excessively hot, allowing for a large amount of vegetation to creep over the planet's surface. The Yohm are a species which became proficient in herbal medicine and tend to use it in everyday practices. Although technically a primitive species at the time, the Yohm had a rather advanced culture, which promoted compassion and cooperation, for example the Yohm always share their breakfasts with their closest neighbors while lunch was always eaten in large groups where everyone added something to the meal. The Yohm have been noted to have healthy appetites and the culinary arts were among the most respected in their society. The Agiata had no troubles with the Yohm, as they were very eager to welcome outsiders who visit them from beyond the stars. The Yohm believed in natural deities which inhabit all living things, which was not unlike the Anavasi belief which venerates the ever-present Goddess. As the Yohm were introduced to the ways of the Celestial Theocracy the Agiata found out that the Yohm have been visited by space-faring aliens in the past. Needless to say, the Celestial Theocracy was very eager to meet this so called "Demiurge Alliance".
-1955: The Celestial Theocracy met the Demiurge Alliance after many years of searching. Negotiations started when Celestial Barges encountered Alliance Cruisers by mere chance. The Alliance was eager to include the Agiata (who were stable psychics, a rarity in the Galaxy) into their fold, but the Celestials on the other hand wished for the members of the Alliance to embrace the Anavasi and force other Protectorates to embrace it as well. This dilemma led to the Alliance breaking off negotiations and proposing to maintain a simple trade relationship instead, but the Celestials would have none of that. The Agiata unleashed their troops in an attempt to expunge the ''infidels'' from their sights and several battles ensued between the two factions. Having other matters to tend to, the Alliance decided to leave the Celestial Theocracy alone and pay them no heed. There was also the fact that they technologically uplifted races that have not reached that level in order to add them to their nation, which was prohibited by the Demiurge Alliance. It is to this reason that the two factions refuse to cooperate and genuinely distrust one another, but that did not stop the Agiata from preaching about the Anavasi way to them at every opportunity they got.
-2206: The Celestial Theocracy indoctrinated many races into their fold, but have not met another major power since the Demiurge Alliance, since all other races they met were either primitive or new at the craft of technology. That is, until they met the Borazg Hegemony. When the two met they tried conversing. While the Borazg were polite and held their ground with logical claims, the Agiata still tried to persuade them to embrace the Anavasi and be one with the Theocracy. The Borazg would kept declining their offers and even started to make mocking remarks about the Agiata and their faith (the Borazg being faithless). While the Borazg thought that this was merely harmless teasing, the Agiata were quick to anger and riots started appearing within the lands that border the Hegemony and the Theocracy. The religious zealots tried to beat their belief into the Borazg, while the latter decided to enforce their robotic soldiers to restore peace and force the masses to back down.
-2214: The Celestial riots escalated in intensity and the Borazg robots resorted to using violence and gunning down highly dangerous individuals in hopes of demoralizing the zealots. This only made the Celestial Theocracy roused to wage war, and several fire fights erupted between the mechanical warriors of the Borazg and the holy crusaders of the Agiata. The Demiurge stepped in and halted the fighting, and after much debate and convincing, the Demiurge stood on the Borazg side, and the Celestials were forced to retreat from Hegemony space. Thus, a lingering strife between Broazg and races of the Theocracy began, so the Agiata named this event ''The War on Faith''.
-2287: The Celestial Theocracy was advancing still, now having two major political adversaries who would deny their faith. It is in this year that the members of the Theocracy encountered the Simian Fleets. This was back when the spaceships the Simians were travelling in were fully automated by a fairly simple AI interface. The Theocracy sent envoys to meet these wayward travelers, only to find out that the majority of Simians were non-sentient apes who relied on the automated systems of their ships for survival. The envoys managed to meet several apes who possessed latent psychic powers, with whom they were able to converse with. These apes said that they were not sure where these powers originated from, but they knew that the first of their kind to gain them was an individual they know as "the Golden Ape", who they revered as a spiritual forefather. The Agiata tried to convert the Simians to embrace the Anavasi, but the Simians politely declined their offer, saying that they are satisfied with their "forefather" guiding their souls. The Celestial Theocracy failed to convert these unruly apes and therefore proclaimed them to be heathens. The Simians barely managed to escape with their lives as the Theocracy sent their Crusaders to destroy them. Ever since the Simians were weary of the Celestial Theocracy and any other religious faction.
-2441: The Silent Veil, as the Demiurge Alliance named it, was spreading dangerously close to Theocracy space and many worlds started to vanish off radar. The Theocracy saw this as a horrible omen and ordered their crusades to circle around the phenomenon, to avoid whatever evil might lie within. It is because of this that the Theocracy made little progress in the next 400 years when it comes to discovering new planets and alien races to indoctrinate.
-2813: The Celestial Theocracy made a discovery unlike any before, they met with the Human Colonies. The Humans are divided into Colonies, each containing several star systems depending on its power, and each would be its own nation, independent from the others. The Agiata saw this as a challenge, for it was not a single great nation, nor a small race they dealt with, but a splintered organization. They started to choose the Colonies they meet wisely, starting of with the likes of Zeus, Athena and Hermes, while avoiding more aggressive ones like Ares, Pallas and Hades. They began to trade with technology with the Humans, and slowly the Anavasi faith was cultivated in several Colonies. Many planets started raising churches devoted to the praise of the One True Faith, as tribute to the members of the Theocracy for their generous contribution. However, the majority would still deny their truth, and even laugh at them for having an obsession with religion. To this end, several conflicts were made between races of the Theocracy and some Human Colonies.
-2824: After the last survivors on the expedition to discover Earth, the long lost Human home planet, returned to the Hermes Colony, they brought dire news of its demise, and the rise of a new threat. After hearing this, the Agiata started to panic, and seeing as such a powerful enemy was so near, they started to withdraw from Human Colonial Space, to begin fortifying worlds on the edge of the Silent Veil, to defend themselves against this ungodly threat.
-3072: The Human Colony Demeter was destroyed by Terrack, with only a bare few survivors remaining, thus signaling the start of the Terrack Genocide. Once news of this came to the Galaxy, the Celestial Theocracy seized this chance, and send strikes into the Silent Veil, in hopes of making some degree of progress while Terrack was occupied with Humanity, but not a single ship returned to Celestial space.
-3126: The Olympian Coalition was formed again, and they sent out a call to aid against the ravages of Terrack, which went deeper into their space, making many worlds vanishing. The Theocracy hesitated to respond at first, seeing as their own worlds were vanishing as well, but they came to realize that they could not fight alone, and thus they made a decision. They would fight alongside mankind in hopes of discovering more about their shadowy enemy, but few realize how great the might of Terrack truly is.

Within the society of the Celestial Theocracy you can find as many as 40 different alien races. Most of them were originally primitives who did not learn how to travel through space on their own, but instead the Theocracy descended upon their worlds and presented themselves as saints, offering them enlightenment if they accept the blessed light of the Anavasi faith. Others were merely young and inexperienced when it came to space travel and sought the help of the Agiata to aid them in this spectrum, and accepted the Anavasi in turn. When an alien race joins the Celestial Theocracy they sign a Sacred Concordat which binds them to the Church of Olgonea. Races who join are given protection from the Theocracy against those who would harm them, and are accepted as equals to the Agiata, the founders of the Theocracy. Those who refuse to join are usually forced through military power, subjugated and restrained to a limited space, while the Agiata make use of their planets. The subjugated race is forced to re-education, and controlled birth rates, so that they may monitor the growth of that race, and try to convince their youth to embrace the Anavasi. Over generations, the race would be reformed, becoming part of the Theocracy. The Agiata also see the purity in a mortal soul, and see robotic machines as a perversion of that, therefore they shun such technological contraptions, which is another reason for mistrust between them and the Borazg. The way technology works for the Agiata is through neural interface, mixed with other highly advanced science. For example, through a controller and an anti-gravity field projector, they can raise large and heavy materials and move them as they wish, for transportation, maintenance, or even construction. They believe that through manual labor, a person can easily learn of his or her own significance and value, and thus the Celestial Theocracy hesitates to advance their technology from their current level. However, the most notable peace of Agiata ingenuity are the Oracles, space stations placed very near to Hyper Rifts, tears in the fabric of reality that separate the material world from that cascading torrent of alien energies originating from Hyper Space (also known as "the Etherium"). These Oracles are known to harvest and siphon the immaterial energies of the Etherium and place them inside Ether Pools where they are purified and then extracted. The Agiata priests who are in charge of the Oracles use instruments named "lyres" to harvest these energies and then place them inside physical objects, such as power cells (which are integrated into Crusader armor and weaponry). By harvesting this power, the Theocracy becomes far more powerful in military might. However, a Hyper Rift is unstable and is known to collapse, implode or simply dissipate after a period of time, making it very hard to harvest its energies. Another Agiata device worth of note are Rapture Obelisks, which are spires which are placed on top of Theocracy controlled worlds and are fueled by the energies harvested from Oracles. The Rapture Obelisk will influence everything around it and all future generations of people born on that planet will start producing psychic individuals (albeit not as frequently as on planets where that naturally happens).

The Celestial Theocracy strives to unite the entire galaxy beneath the safety of its wing, and will openly enter in peaceful negotiations with any other race, and will be satisfied with only a trade-alliance, but only shortly. Over time, members of the Theocracy begin spreading the religion of Anavasi and gradually indoctrinate the other race. If talks fail, then it is known for members of the Theocracy to commence with zealous riots, which might even escalate into all-out holy war. It is because of this that many are weary of the Celestials, and this makes it harder to talk with them, which only frustrates them more. Any world that is controlled by the Celestial Theocracy is bound by the Sacred Concordat to pay tribute to the Church of Olgonea. Depending on the world's size, population, natural resources and working conditions, they receive a Tithe, which they must pay on a regular basis. If a world within the Celestial Theocracy is unable, or outright unwilling, to pay their Tithe, then the Church of Olgonea can take action. In the most extreme cases, the entire population is excommunicated from the Theocracy, making them easy prey for any enemy that might be lurking in the darkness of space. However, all species within the Celestial Theocracy are free to trade and exchange goods with one another, allowing every member to prosper culturally. This is possible because of the "Astral Path", a network of interstellar pathways which have been proven to be safest for Theocracy's commerce vessels to travel through.

The most important part of Agiata society is the pure zeal they have towards their ''One True Faith'', the Anavasi (or 'Ascension' as it is more formerly called). It is a belief centered around the Goddess Olgonea, a great being of light which spread the dust that formed the stars and sown the seed from which all life grew. She is the observant mother of the Aneli, and all other races who join the Celestial Theocracy. But the Aneli also believe in an evil that lurks in the darkness, the Skia, daemons made of shadows which blight the minds of mortals and turn them to dread and insanity. It is said that Olgonea is trying her best to keep the Skia from entering the mortal world from the Iliakos, the realm of light and shadow, where evil and good battle day after day to decide the faith of the mortal world. They also believe that if good wins, the Goddess Olgonea will come before them and render judgement against the faithless. If evil wins, the Skia will drown the sky and engulf the stars, blotting out all light, leaving behind only darkness and despair. Either way, the Aneli see it as their duty to prepare the Galaxy for the coming of either, and spread the Anavasi, in a desperate attempt to ''save the souls'' of many. This movement is referred to as Aitia (a.k.a. ''the Cause''). Next to the Church of Olgonea, there are many Cults being formed (usually when a new race is annexed into the Theocracy), each with a different ideal that deviates from the main religious body in some way (for example, some Cults claim Olgonea is male, or even a genderless entity). The Cults are left to remain if they aren't harmful, and they allow members of the "true" Anavasi Creed to engage in philosophical arguments with members of the Cults. If a Cult gains enough prominence, its ideas might be integrated into the main Church and the founder of that Cult would be proclaimed a Saint (but these occurrences are extremely rare). Many believe that this religious obsession stems from the fact that the Aneli produce natural psychics, and this made them very superstitious. In truth, the Agiata believe that the more ''psychic energy'' one possesses, the closer they are to the Goddess, and therefore those individuals are greatly respected among the Aneli and the Celestial Theocracy.

Within the Theocracy, it is psychic ability that matters the most, for it is seen as holy power granted to them by their Goddess as a means to spread the Anavasi faith. There is a hierarchy which is made up of what the Agiata consider royalty. These individuals have been selectively breeding to best improve their psychic capabilities and present themselves as living saints that stride among mortal men, weeding out sinners and preaching about the Aitia, the Cause for which they all fight for. The families that produce the most powerful psychics become notable Houses and are revered as royalty. The Agiata still keep their feudal system, and they split their people to:
-Peasants and Serfs: the ones who serve the rest, most of the other species join this group. Although they are technically not slaves, and are permitted to have a bit of freedom, they do not have their own lands.
-Lower Nobility: possess their own territory, and can hire Serfs to serve them, and the Serfs get payed in turn. The Lower Nobility includes both Agiata and some of the other races who have earned their place in the Theocracy.
-Higher Nobility: mostly comprising of Agiata with high psychic capabilities, and very few members of other races get to this level. The Higher Nobility can coordinate Lower Nobility, as well as all the Serfs who serve them.
-Royalty: the highest parts of the Theocracy's Hierarchy, and they are all Agiata. They are great psychics and preachers alike, and it is by their command that crusades are launched, wars waged and laws enforced.
-Regina: the absolute leader of the entire Celestial Theocracy, and everyone who praises the Anavasi Faith is at her command. There is only one Regina at a time, and all of them have been Agiata females.
*They have a Vassal and Senior relationship. While the Vassal has many obligations towards its Senior, the Senior needs only to protect and support its Vassals. Peasants are Vassals of Lesser Nobility, who are Vassals of Higher Nobility (who can also call their Vassal's Peasants) and they are in turn Vassals to the Royalty (who can command all) and at the very top is the Regina (it is said that the entire Theocracy is her Vassal).
Separate from the Hierarchy of nobles and royals is the Church of Olgonea, the primary religious body that exerts its influence to the entire nation. Once an individual takes on the Rite of Sanctimony, they abandon all of their material wealth and lands in order to dedicate their lives to learning and teaching the way of their Goddess. The Church of Olgonea has its own Hierarchy, including titles such as deacons, pastors, vicars, chaplains, bishops, archbishops and cardinals. A Cardinal is the highest ranking member of the Church of Olgonea and only they have the right to elect the ruling Regina.

The Agiata (being the prominent race in the Theocracy) are the only ones who form the Crusades, the fighting arm of the Theocracy, while the other races are free to get some basic training to defend their homes, as a form of Men-At-Arms force that keep watch. There are those who are hand picked Agiata who enter the Monasteries of the Anavasi to train themselves in the art of holy war. These Monasteries also act as orphanages and all Agiata who join also receive this training once they are of age. The Monasteries train these individuals to become warriors and preachers alike, fighting those who would oppose the Anavasi and enforcing it when out of combat. The Agiata holy-warriors are known as Knights, and they are the blade that strikes at the Heretics who deny the One True Faith. While Knights form Covenants and act as the standing army of the Theocracy, the Church also urges the zealous masses to join glorious battle. Nobles and their Vassals flock to Olgonea's Monasteries in order to train themselves in the art of combat. Those who succeed are given their rites and receive as much equipment, armor and weapons as their Seniors can afford, thus becoming Crusaders. While Knights are more professional and better trained, Crusaders form the bulk of any Celestial Crusade, being composed of thousands of raving fanatics who are both willing and able to spill the blood of heathens in the name of the Goddess.
The Theocracy equips powerful weapons to their Crusaders, such as energy shields that deflect beams and solid objects alike, swords pulsating with disruptive energy that tear through metal, and guns that shoot blazing bursts of light. Some weapons use the bearer's own psychic power (if they have any) and releases it in a violent burst of energy that can rip apart any form of solid matter. The vehicles and aircraft bear great movement capabilities and are described as swift and elegant, but deadly. Their spaceship armada is not that potent on weaponry, for the Agiata prefer to deal with their enemies face to face, but they are the fastest, for they can easily create and use Hyper-Drives, thus becoming highly mobile when it comes to interplanetary expansion.
The Agiata military is divided into ''packs''. Each pack works closely together and cooperate to survive (members of a pack even live together as a family when out of combat). The packs move independently from one another, and each has its own goal to accomplish. This makes it hard to keep track and predict the movements and progression of Agiata Crusaders on the field. They end up stripping the enemy bare of it's defenses, and then striking where they are weakest. But it is not tactics, or weapons or power that makes the Celestial Theocracy strong, it is the blind faith and righteous zeal which inspires them that makes the Crusaders a deadly adversary to face against.

-The Agiata in this picture is a Knight Paladin of the Skywrath Covenant, wearing the Armor of the Evangelized while holding a Runic Claymore and a Shield of Brilliance (bearing the heraldry of the Skywrath Covenant).
-Agiata derives from the Greek word "άγιος" which means "Saint", hinting towards their relation to the divine.
-"Anavasi" derives from the Greek word "ανάβαση" which means "Ascension".
-"Aitia" derives from the Greek word "αιτία" which means "Cause".
-"Skia" derives from the Greek word "σκιά" which means "Shadow".
-"Iliakos" derives from the Greek word "ηλιακή" which means "Solar".
-"Katagogi" derives form the Greek word "καταγωγή" which means "Origin".
-Olgonea derives from the Greek word "ουρανός" which means "Sky" but is also the name of a Greek God (Primordial Deity) who ruled the sky (his name is also pronounced "Uranus").
-The Church of Olgonea is based on Zoroastrianism, a monotheistic pre-Islamic religion of ancient Persia founded by Zoroaster in the 6th century BC.
-Lyres are string instruments known for their use in Greek classical antiquity. They are often associated with the Greek God Apollo.
-The idea of a race where the females are dominant and do most of the fighting derives from the Amazons, a race of women warriors from Greek mythology.
