Hati and Skoll .:lineart:. Picture

Hati and Sköll are from Norse mythology. It was said that a mortal man named Mundilfari sired a son and a daughter so lovely that he named the boy after the Moon, and the daughter after the Sun. Angered by the mortal's arrogance, Odin, the chief of the gods, stole the children and imprisoned them to guide the chariots which brought the Sun and the Moon through the sky. Hati is a great wolf whom chases the Moon through the sky every night. Sköll chases the Sun; they will devour the children at the Apocalypse so that the heavens will be sprayed with blood and Freyja will once more weep tears of gold. This will be the beginning of the wolf-age: Ragnarok.
