Daddy's Girl 76 Picture

This whole sequence with Prometheus is very tricky for me to draw (or rather to write, because it is the replies that are the biggest problem), so the updates will continue to be slower than usual for a time.

I've seen several different translations of The Maxims of Ptahhotep (or The Instruction of Ptahhotep or The Maxims on Good Discourse or The Wisdom of Ptahhotep, as it sometimes also is called). It is an ancient Egyptian work in the sebayt ("teachings") genre, attributed to the vizier Ptahhotep who lived during the Old Kingdom (2686–2181 BCE).

The maxims advocate truthfulness, self-control and kindness and that you can learn a great deal by listening to all kinds of people, because human knowledge is never perfect. I imagined that Prometheus would sympathize with the cited passage in panel three, but Ptahhotep also advocated that you should follow the rules and norms of society and never be cheeky to a superior, and that I don't think Prometheus totally agrees about.
