Rakshasi Picture

Acryla gouache and coloured pencils on drawing paper

This piece was inspired by a beautiful young woman I met at the New York Comic Con on Saturday. She asked me for a portrait of herself as a vampire, and I'm afraid I did a terrible job at it. I may not see my muse again (though I do owe her a better portrait), but here is a better piece than the one she received. I worked on it later that same day, and it gave me a chance to do a piece with a woman in it again (something I really should do more of).

As for the title, though the figure here may not represent one of the rakshasis/rakshasas as they are strictly depicted in Buddhist and Hindu mythology, I thought it would be a more clever title than Indian Vampire or Hindu Vampire.

I hope you all enjoy this.
