Hestia Picture

Yep, finally added her, Hestia, goddess of the hearth. She is the sister of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter and is one of the six original Olympians. Hestia did not have many myths to her as she often (and wisely) stayed out of her family's dramas and refused to get involved in mortal affairs. One of the few myths involving her is how she became a virgin goddess. Both Poseidon and Apollo sought to marry her and thus both courted her. Despite her refusal, the two gods competed for her hand to the point of coming to blows. Hestia, not wishing to be the catalyst for war between the deities, went to Zeus and told him of her desire to be an eternal virgin goddess. Zeus agreed to her request and allowed her to swear upon his brow her eternal chastity. Naturally, Poseidon and Apollo trudged off dejectedly as a result. My version of Hestia is quiet, but warm and inviting. She prefers to be left alone, but will indulge her family members when they need to rant about something. She may be quiet, but she is not timid, she is confident and content with her life, as she should be, as she lacks nothing.
