Leda and the Swan Picture

Leda and the Swan
[ illustration ]

In Greek mythology, Leda was the wife of King Tyndareus of Sparta. She was the mother of Helen of Troy, Clytemnestra, and Castor and Pollux. Leda was admired by Zeus, who raped her in the guise of a swan.

Watercolour of Leda from Greek mythology and two swans. This was the first time I've really used white gel pen in my work (for outlining her and drawing the flowers in the background) and I'm really happy with the results. The scan didn't pick this up very nicely, though.
