Hera since her chief function was as goddess of marriage.
In Greek Mythology, Hera was the wife of Zeus and queen of the Olympians. Portrayed as majestic and solemn, often enthroned and crowned, Hera may bear in her hand the pomegranate, emblem of fertile blood and of death.
Hera was worshiped throughout Greece, and most important temples were consecrated to her.
