Destroyer of Light 47 Picture

The Okeanides were among the attendants of Artemis. According to Callimachus's hymn to Artemis, she asked Zeus for sixty of Okeanos's daughters to form her choir (she asked for lots of other things too. It's a quite cute hymn actually. She's still just a little child. She sits in her father's lap and says she wants this and that and sometimes she even tries to pull his beard. And Zeus just thinks that she is adorable and grants her everything. No wonder Hera is pissed. Not only does she have to share her home with her husband's illegitimate children, but also see him favour those children. It's wrong of her to take it out on the kids, though).
